Grubhub, a leading online and mobile food delivery and ordering platform, in collaboration with the Grubhub in partnership with the NGLCC (National LGBT Chamber of Commerce) and Plexus LGBT & Allied Chamber of Commerce, has announced the successful recipients of the Community Impact Awards.
This grant program, supported by the Grubhub Community Fund, helps to alleviate some of the financial strain restaurants have experienced over the last several years – allowing them to market and grow their business and invest in new technologies.
This collaboration exemplifies the shared values of the NGLCC and the Grubhub in fostering economic empowerment and advancing equality for the LGBTQ+ community. By supporting LGBTQ+-owned and allied establishments, this initiative will contribute to the vibrant and diverse culinary landscape across the country.
After a rigorous selection process, which included applications from numerous LGBTQ+ and allied, the judging panel has chosen five outstanding restaurants to receive grant awards. These establishments have demonstrated exceptional potential, innovative ideas, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the local LGBTQ+ business landscape.
The winners of the GrubHub Grant for LGBTQ+ Entrepreneurs are:
- Twist Social Club & Landmark Smokehouse – A “neighborhood bar and night club focused on serving the LGBTQ+ community of greater Cleveland.”
- JukeBox – A “music-centric bar with a neighborhood tavern feel, located in Ohio City’s blossoming Hingetown community. “
- Little Rose Tavern – A “bar, vegan restaurant, art space, community center, venue, and an inclusive space for creative people. Gay women owned and operated, it’s an authentic DIY space with fun events, shows and programming.”
- The FieldHouse at Studio West 117 – Offers “an exciting space for health and wellness in the gymnasium and courtyard. It also features fun dining and bar options at the ground floor restaurant, rooftop bar, and pizza kitchen.”
“We are thrilled to support these exceptional entrepreneurs in our community,” said Amanda Cole, Plexus Executive Director. “These grants reflect our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the vital role that small businesses play in our local economy. We believe in these businesses and look forward to seeing them flourish.”
The Community Impact Grant Program is part of Grubhub’s broader initiative to support local businesses and foster inclusive communities. The NGLCC and it’s 53 national affiliate chambers were key partners in this initiative, helping to identify and select the grant recipients.
“We are proud to be part of this important initiative with GrubHub,” said David Rabinsky, Board President of Plexus LGBT & Allied Chamber of Commerce. “Supporting LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs is essential to building a more diverse and inclusive business environment, and we are excited to see how these grant recipients will contribute to our community.” 🔥
