Join the NGLCC’s Transgender & Gender Expansive Initiative (TGX) and Plexus for our celebration of Transgender Day of Visibility! TDOV is “a day where people could celebrate the lives of transgender people, while still acknowledging that due to discrimination, not every trans person can or wants to be visible” (GLAAD).
A discussion of this bittersweet day brings our community together, allowing us the space to share our joys and pride while recognizing the sacrifices we make by coming out and remaining visible. Visibility means opportunities to connect, engage, and inspire. It also can feel threatening, and full of fear and loss. When we come together to share our experiences, we grow together. Participants will leave our discussion with feelings of strength, solidarity, progress, and pride.

We’ll have self care activities such as sober paint and sip, a trans joy community art project, and more! This event is free and open to the public. We ask that an adult accompany anyone under 18. Please RSVP here or our website to give us an idea of the headcount.

We come together to celebrate our vibrant Trans community through art, performances, and storytelling. Trans Day of Visibility, an annual occurrence in March dedicated to honoring transgender individuals, highlighting the challenges they face globally, and celebrating their significant contributions to society.
During the event, we will have community activists and speakers, as well as performances by local trans performers. In addition to the programming, we will also have a photo booth and letter-writing station so we can let Ohio lawmakers know that the Toledo Trans community and its allies stand united and proud.

This study, with resources from the Reconciling Ministries Network, will cover basic truths about transgender people, invite us to engage in reflection and discussion guided by Biblical scripture, and better equip us to support transgender folks in our community.

Hi, we’re Makers Social , the DIY craft bar in the Franklinton Arts District! With a full menu of over 30 DIY crafts & a full bar of cocktails, beers, and rare bourbons, we’re excited to invite you to celebrate the official launch of “The Queer Allies Bible”, a necessary book in the present climate. This book is a multi-generational resource designed to educate people to be inclusive, accepting, and affirming LGBTQIA+ allies.
In today’s world, there are a lot of opinions and discussions surrounding gender and sexual identity. Whether these conversations are happening in workplaces, legislatures, communities, schools, churches, or on social media, many are taking place without the voices of those most affected—namely members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Using the actual lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals, The Queer Allies Bible provides a much-needed guide for how to be an effective and affirming LGBTQIA+ ally. Special emphasis is placed on three main pillars: learning and understanding; being respectful; and advocacy. Through these pillars, the book delves into activities and actions that allies can engage in, including conversation starters; responding to anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks; supporting the coming out process; religion; creating inclusive spaces, and more.

As a photographer, NV’s project, “This is Trans,” launched in 2022 as a way to bring visibility and awareness to transgender people of all forms. I am a local trans activist and educator, I’ve lived in rural Ohio all my life, pioneering Queer events as I’ve went. Now I’m planning an event in Springfield, where I now reside with my partner. With support from Equality Springfield I am running a Trans Day of Visibility event on the 31st.
The event will focus on trans joy, and calls to action; as both are needed now more than ever. We will be featuring speakers of all backgrounds from across the state, and will include a message from our Indiana partners in an Interstate Pride Coalition I’m helping form. I will deliver the keynote speech, and then we will mobilize into a march for visibility afterwards.
