‘United As One’ on Main Street: Thousands participate in Akron Equity March [GALLERY]

Here’s what we saw on August 23 as Pride-goers gathered from across the region to celebrate authenticity and resistance in the Rubber City.

Before the scheduled entertainment graced the newly built stage of Lock 3 for the 2025 Akron Pride Festival, thousands of community members gathered to walk together down Main Street for the Akron Equity March on Saturday.

The theme for this year’s event was “United As One.”

“Standing together as a community and lifting each other up by becoming active in other marginalized community issues is how we achieve change,” organizers said in the description of the event.

From churches to Pride Bands to archivists, the march featured placards of resistance, fists raised in solidarity and thousands of individuals radiating authenticity for all the world to see.

Here are some of the images we captured from the 2025 Akron Equity March. 🔥
