Plexus LGBT & Allied Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Cleveland Guardians, is proud to announce the LGBTQ+ Workplace Impact Symposium: Sharing Our Stories, Strengthening the Workplace, taking place on Wednesday, November 12th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Progressive Field.
This half-day symposium is designed to strengthen the fabric of workplace belonging by convening leaders and professionals committed to advancing LGBTQ+ equity through sustainable, collaborative, and measurable Employee Resource Group (ERG) and team models.
The event welcomes executives, HR professionals, supplier diversity experts, ERG and BRG members, and all individuals interested in building inclusive workplaces where everyone feels seen and valued. Participants will explore LGBTQ+ experiences, available resources, and collective strategies to foster meaningful inclusion.
Keynote Speaker: Shelby Chestnut (They/He), Executive Director, Transgender Law Center
Shelby Chestnut leads the nation’s largest trans-led organization advocating for a world where everyone can define themselves and their futures. With over two decades of community organizing and policy advocacy, Shelby has been a transformative leader for trans liberation, BIPOC leadership, and social justice. They are the first Native trans person to lead a national LGBTQ organization.
Symposium Outcomes:
- Gain practical models for sustaining ERGs under budget and resource constraints
- Build cross-collaboration between resource groups and across organizations
- Equip executive sponsors with new tools and language to champion ERGs within leadership circles
- Strengthen connections between nonprofit and corporate partners for shared impact
