What a difference a year makes.

As COVID-19 spread across the land, Summer 2020 saw the disruption of Pride festivals all over Ohio: some moved to cars, others moved online, and many were canceled altogether.

But break out those rainbow balloons as things are looking up for Summer 2021 with Pride celebrations coming together throughout the Buckeye State. We are proud to present to you our 2021 LGBTQ+ Ohio Pride Guide, a list we will keep updating as we get more information.

All Throughout June

Stonewall Columbus PRIDE 2021 (Columbus)
Where: Virtual /  Varies
Info: Stonewall Columbus PRIDE will include a combination of in-person and virtual events throughout the month of June, with the intention of “decreasing large in-person moments, but encouraging responsible socially distant moments of togetherness.” Festivities include a virtual pride march (broadcast on NBC4 on June 19!), dances, a bike parade, 5K, community meal, and other community hosted events. Cincinnati Black Pride 2021 (Cincinnati)
Where: Virtual /  Varies
Info: Cincy Black Pride will be holding events throughout the month of June, partnering with several other local organizations. Events include art shows, film screenings, an awards show, party, and more. The full schedule of events can be found on their website

Cincinnati Pride (Cincinnati)
Where: Virtual /  Varies
Info: Cincinnati Pride will include events throughout the June. A pride film series, art exhibitions, a pride market, and much more are among the planned activities. More details and the full schedule are available on the Cincinnati Pride website

Fairfield Pride (Fairfield)
Where: Virtual
Info: Fairfield Ohio Pride will be hosting events virtually throughout June. Those interested can track the discussions on their Facebook Page. 

Colors+ 2nd Annual Virtual Run/Walk
Where: Virtual
Info: Colors+ will be holding a variety of virtual events throughout Pride month including a Virtual Run/Walk throughout June and July, a Chipotle Fundraiser in Fairview Park on June 1st, Family Meetups in Fairview Park, and a NYC Youth Pride Virtual Watch Party with swag bags on June 26th. Pride Month at the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library
Info: Art exhibits, poetry readings, painting events, and a community panel on “LGBTQIA+ Personal, Social, and Legal Considerations” are all just *some* of the events being hosted by this incredible library system. For more info, go to their Pride Month page of events.

Cleveland Pride 1989 (Robert Downing)

Pride in the CLE & Pride Ride (Cleveland)
When: Friday, June 4 – Saturday, June 5
Where: WKYC Channel 3 & Edgewater Park
Info: Cleveland kicks off this pride season with a 30-minute TV special airing on WKYC Channel 3. This is followed the next morning with Cleveland’s second Pride Ride, a car parade beginning at Edgewater Park. More details are available at the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland’s website.

PRIDE 2021: Together as One (Dayton)
When: Friday, June 4 – Saturday, June 5
Where: Courthouse Square & Downtown Dayton
Info: Dayton’s 2-day, in-person pride event begins on Friday with an evening of live music and performances, followed Saturday morning with a car parade and pride festival, complete with live entertainment, vendors, and food. More information is available on the Dayton LGBT Center’s website

Findlay Pride (Findlay)
When: Friday, June 4 – Sunday, June 6
Where: Riverside Park
Info: This year’s Findlay Pride will include 3 days of in-person events, beginning with their Pride Mixer on Friday. Saturday’s events include “Pride in the Park” and an after party, and Sunday concludes the weekend with a Pride Brunch. Sanitizing stations will be present and all participants will be required to wear a mask. Additionally, indoor events will be ticketed to ensure compliance with capacity regulations. Pride Ashtabula County 2021 (Ashtabula County)
When: Saturday, June 5
Where: 1498 State Route 46, South Jefferson, OH 44047
Info: Festivities at Pride Ashtabula County 2021 will be hosted on a farm, and feature musician Susan Hagan, a talent show, and drag performances. There will also be an after party at Buccias Vineyards in nearby Conneaut for those who donate $50+. Participants are asked to wear their masks and social distance. Marysville Pride Fest (Marysville)
When: Saturday, June 5
Where: Memorial Health Pavilion
Info: Billed as “a Family-Friendly gathering to support our LGBTQ+ kids and residents and to make a stand against discrimination and bullying in our town.” The event will feature food trucks, live music, and vendors. More information on their Facebook Event Page

Hamilton Ohio Pride Festival & Concert (Hamilton)
When: Saturday, June 5
Where:
Marcum Park & RiversEdge Amphitheater
Info: 2021 will mark Hamilton’s first ever in-person Pride Festival. This free, family friendly event will feature live music and performances, food trucks, vendors, and many activities for kids. It is followed by a concert by The Skivvies, Dakota Green, and local drag queens. Attendees are  asked to maintain social distancing throughout the day and wear masks. March For Unity (Elyria)
When: Saturday, June 5, 2pm
Where: Ely Square
Info: From the event description, “People of all colors, races, religions, and the LGBTQ+ community, lets march together to show our communities we support each other and that hate has no home here or anywhere! Let’s March For Unity! Get your signs and T-shirts ready!” More info on the Facebook event page.

Running With Pride (Dayton)
When: Sunday, June 6
Where: Welcome Park (1601 S Edwin C. Moses Blvd)
Info: Registration – 7:30am, Race Start – 9:00am. Virtual options available. Proceeds to Benefit – PFLAG Dayton. More info on registration site.

Lake County LGBTQ Pride Picnic (Painesville)
When: Sunday, June 6
Where: Lake County History Center (415 Riverside Drive, Painesville)
Info: Lake County Pride Picnic is an event that brings together LGBTQ+ people and our allies in one place to celebrate individuality and diversity, Register for free box lunches and free ice cream. The event is limited to 100 individuals, so each person must register to attend. Sign up by going to the event registration page.

Saturday, June 12

Central Ohio Reconciling Ministries Pride Festival (Columbus)
When: Saturday, June 12
Where: Bethel International United Methodist Church (1220 Bethel Road, Columbus)
Info: With live music, food vendors, face painting, and games, bring the whole family. There will also be a worship service at 1:45pm where they will “joyfully celebrate Pride and our awesome God who welcomes ALL people with open arms!” More info on their Facebook event page.

Upper Arlington LGBTQ Pride 2021 (Upper Arlington)
When: Sunday, June 13
Where:
Northwest Park
Info: Upper Arlington’s 2021 pride event will take place Saturday, June 13th at Northwest Park. The event is coordinated by Rainbow UA, a neighborhood alliance to serve and support the Upper Arlington LGBTQ+ community. More information is available on their website and event Facebook page

Black Queerness and the Fight for Civil Rights with Avery Ware Hosted by Cleveland Stonewall Democrats 
Where: Virtual
Info: A discussion dedicated Black queerness and how Black queer politics fit into the overall civil rights movement; post-Stonewall era, introducing names & works from underrepresented Black queer artists, educators, leaders, and organizations, with elements movements like drag, ballroom culture, etc.. The event is free and open to all. Register here.

Fairborn Community Pride (Fairborn)
Where: Fairborn Community Park Amphitheatre
Info: Come celebrate Pride with the First Annual(!) Fairborn Community Pride and enjoy music, drag performers, speakers, food, resources, and community organizations. RSVP on their website.

Saturday, June 19

Columbus Pride

Unity Pride Festival (Delaware)
Where: Unity Community Center
Info: Delaware County’s first ever pride festival will be held this June. The event will be for all ages, and include drag bingo, pride storytime, yoga, food trucks, vendors, and an evening drag show to wrap up the event. More details are available on their website or Facebook.

Mx. Juneteenth (Cleveland)
Where:
4701 Perkins Ave
Info: Blk Punx Press, Drag From The Left, and The Community Care Collective are presenting this event in honor of Juneteenth, a holiday for reverence, remembrance, and celebration. Food, entertainment and fellowship will combine to form “
a liberatory space that centers on radical politics, community care, and expressive joy.” More information on their Facebook event page.

Gahanna Pride March (Gahanna)
Where: Starting at Friendship Park (150 Oklahoma Ave)
Info: “A positive and loving representation of what this community is about,” this Pride March will start at Friendship Park proceed down Granville St, and End at Kroger Parking Lot. More info on their Facebook page

Friday, June 25 – Sunday, June 27

Columbus Melanin Pride
When: Friday, June 25 – Sunday, June 27
Where: Various Locations
Info: From the event description, “This Pride is catered to the Black/POC LGBTQ+ that get sprinkled in when we deserve so much more than just inclusion!” Events include a candy-themed glow party, a white-attired brunch, and a picnic-style celebration of all things Melanin. 2021 Middletown Pride (Middletown)
When: Friday, June 25
Where: Downtown Middletown
Info: The third annual Middletown Pride celebration this June will include events such as a Color Crawl and High Heel Dash. The event will feature music, local drag queens, and more. More information can be found on the event Facebook page or Downtown Middletown website

Franklinton Pride 2021 (Franklinton)
When: Saturday, June 26
Where: Various locations
Info: The Franklinton community will celebrate year two of a local community Pride celebration centered on the arts and local businesses. The event features a dawn til dusk schedule of events, including entertainment, vendors, food, and more. The events will raise funds for local LGBTQIA+ organizations, and most will be ticketed in order to enforce COVID-19 safety precautions. Details can be found on Facebook.

Yellow Springs Pride (Yellow Springs)
When: Saturday, June 26
Where: Antioch University Midwest (900 Dayton Street)
Info: This event has it all: a parade, a tailgate with LGBTQ+ advocacy, live entertainers, a silent dance party, and SO much more. Check out their website and Facebook page for more info.

2021 Pride Block Party (Cincinnati)
When: Saturday, June 26
Where: 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati (609 Walnut Street)
Info:  Visitors and locals can party with the Yellow Penguins in Gano Alley. Inspired by St. James Joy socially distanced disco block parties in Brooklyn this last year, 21c is teaming up with Nicholson’s to host a Pride-themed Block Party featuring outdoor grilled food by Metropole, drink specials, dancing, raffle prizes and more. A portion of proceeds from this event will benefit Transform Cincy. Masks encouraged. Stations for hand sanitizer and extra masks will be available. More info and registration on their event page.

Hilliard Pride (Hilliard)

Info: The first ever Pride celebration in Hilliard! The event will feature renowned music artist Donna Mogavero, fun activities for all ages, and LGBTQ+ organizations. More information on their Facebook event page.

Dayton Black Pride

2021 Live at the Park with Toledo Pride (Toledo)

Where:
Promenade Park
Info: Toledo Pride’s 2021 event will be “Live at the Park,” featuring drag shows, live music, drink service, 50/50 raffles, snacks, and more. The event will be held in 3, 2 hour long sessions to allow for smaller crowd sizes. Tickets and details can be found on their website.

What: Toledo Pride will be hosting a drive-in pride event this September. The movies shown will be The Birdcage, and an LGBTQ+ themed movie that is to be determined. Tickets are limited and available on their website

2021 Newark Ohio Pride Festival (Newark)
Where: Canal Market District
Info: The 4th annual Newark Ohio Pride Festival will be held in October, LGBTQ+ History Month, in order to have the safest possible event. The event will feature live music and performances, guest speakers, local artists and vendors, free HIV and STI testing, community resources, local food, and more.
