Rain outside, rainbows inside: Lorain County Pride shines through the clouds [GALLERY]

Torrential rain may have tried to dampen the festivities, but nothing could dampen the spirit of the annual Lorain County Pride festival on Saturday.

The event was held in Oberlin, the only city in northeast Ohio’s Lorain County with fully inclusive legal protections for the LGBTQ+ community.

Based on a gloomy forecast and with participants’ safety in mind, organizers decided earlier in the week to move the festivities from the outdoor park at Tappan Square to the Hales Gymnasium at Oberlin College.

With over 60 nonprofit organizations and vendors tabling in the gym, family-friendly drag performances in The Cat in the Cream Coffeehouse downstairs and food trucks outside for those hungry souls braving the weather, Pride-goers had a grand time celebrating their authenticity.
