‘Restore Trans Rights’: Cleveland draws hundreds during national protests against Trump

National ‘Hands Off!’ movement draws hundreds to Cleveland in protest of Trump’s policies

Hundreds gathered in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood on Saturday April 5, as part of the national “Hands Off!” protest movement – which included over 1,200 demonstrations organized by more than 150 different groups across the country in opposition to President Donald Trump’s administration.

In Cleveland, Demonstrators spent more than two hours at the corner of W. 25th and Lorain Ave., chanting and holding signs mocking Trump, U.S. Vice President JD Vance, billionaire Elon Musk and Russian President Vladimir Putin, among others.

Protestors expressed outrage over a number of Trump’s policies and executive orders – including the administration’s rollback of LGBTQ+ civil rights and potentially devastating cuts to medicaid, social security and public schools and libraries.

Dozens of Cleveland Police officers and private security patrolled the scene.
