Fremont Pride was held on Saturday in Northwest Ohio on a different expanse of grass than previous festivals. For its sixth year, Fremont Pride moved to Birchard Park, located in almost the exact center of Fremont.
“Previously we were isolated on the outskirts of Fremont,” said Russell Exlos-Raber, executive director of Fremont Pride. “But now we’re in the heart of the city, which is perfect.”
Hundreds of pride-goers were treated to a park full of vendors, food trucks, political candidates, local nonprofits and a host of live entertainment, including drag performers and singer-songwriters.
Organizers said the festivities were particularly important this year, as the legislative attacks against the LGBTQ+ community continue to escalate.
“It shouldn’t be as hard as it is here in 2026,” said Exlos-Raber. “Fremont needs to know they have a safe, inclusive community here for them. I want people walking away from Pride today feeling seen, heard and loved.”
