New Richmond, Ohio hosts first LGBTQ+ Pride in Clermont County [GALLERY]

New Richmond, Ohio, hosted the first public LGBTQ+ Pride celebration in Clermont County. The Buckeye Flame captured these images.

In New Richmond, Ohio — a village about 20 miles southeast of Cincinnati — residents publicly celebrated LGBTQ+ Pride for the first time in the history of Clermont County.

On Friday, June 10, attendees kicked off a three-day festival organized by the New Richmond Pride Foundation, gathering at the village’s covered bandstand on the banks of the Ohio River. Not bad for a small town where the Board of Education banned rainbows just last year.

The Bellowing Pines — a queer-fronted band from Cincinnati— played a 50-minute set.

The Buckeye Flame captured these images.
