Central Outreach Wellness Center has expanded its footprint with a new and sprawling downtown Columbus location at 96 N 4th St.
Already welcoming scheduled and walk-in patients at this new medical clinic, Central Outreach will host a grand opening event for the community to celebrate the center on Thursday June 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A catered complementary lunch and a tour of the facility will be available. Shannon Hardin, president of the Columbus City Council, is the keynote speaker for the opening.
Local clinicians Dr. James Questel, D.O., and Mimi Rivard, APRN, MSN, lead Central Outreach’s efforts in Columbus.
“We are proud to open the doors of our new downtown clinic and expand access to the high-quality care our patients deserve,” said Questel. “At Central Outreach, our mission has always been to provide compassionate, inclusive healthcare in environments where patients feel welcomed and respected. This new location strengthens our ability to reach more individuals and connect them with the comprehensive services they need to live healthier lives.”
Rivard highlights that when Central Outreach was just launching in Columbus in 2022, the message was, “Just show up!”
“Well, Columbus sure did show up!” Rivard said. “The last four years have gone by so quickly, but the community has been with us every step of the way.”
Rivard expressed gratitude to the local community and reaffirmed Central Outreach’s commitment to continue to provide this critical care.
“We are here to meet the sexual health, HIV prevention and treatment needs of the community,” Rivard said. “We will continue to provide expert gender-affirming care.”
The previous Central Outreach location at 2680 W Broad St in the Hilltop neighborhood will become Central Outreach’s first clinic dedicated to Hepatitis C care, a service the organization has provided through its Hep C Cure Squad.
