Video Trump repeatedly pivots to anti-trans attacks in Ohio campaign rally

Despite rising costs of living for all Americans, Trump focused instead on the infinitesimal number of trans Americans in athletics.

President Trump held a midterm campaign rally in Vandalia, Ohio, on Saturday to stump for GOP candidates including Sen. John Husted, gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy and congressional candidate Derek Merrin.

Trump gave the crowd a meandering speech for more than 90 minutes, covering all of his current obsessions: renaming AI as “Super Intelligence,” promising a “Trump dividend of $5000 to every adult citizen in America” if Republicans retain control of the House and the Senate, and launching multiple attacks on the media covering the event.

Despite the rising costs of living affecting all Americans’ ability to sustain their livelihood, Trump meandered to transgender issues four different times during his speech, repeatedly misgendering individuals and blasting the infinitesimal number of trans Americans participating in athletics.

Trump first mentioned trans individuals 16 minutes into his remarks after praising himself for coming up with and employing the word “Dumbocrats” to describe the Democratic party. He referenced a policy regarding “transgender for everybody” but did not cite any specific legislation. He then pivoted to declaring that, “We will not allow men to play in women’s sports,” which was met with chants of “U-S-A” by the crowd.

Later in his speech, Trump said that Democrats voted in favor of the “transgender mutilation on your children.” He then admitted that referencing transgender individuals is a political tactic, but that Democrats will continue to lose elections as long as they show support for trans rights.

“They’re a bunch of dumb sons of bitches,” Trump called Democrats. Watch the clip below.

At another point during the rally, Merrin attacked Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur’s claims that she does not support trans citizens, claiming that she actually does. Kaptur recently released two anti-trans ads. Watch the clip below.
