The Collaborative NewsLab @ Kent State University is an experiential and collaborative news commons, launched in June 2020, that helps provide School of Media and Journalism (MDJ) students with real-world reporting experiences through paid internships, while also connecting under-resourced professional media partners with quality, solutions-based coverage focused on local communities and issues.
Our students receive highly mentored and supported professional experience and modest pay—our reporting serves the greater Ohio community, with a particular focus on underserved residents of urban and rural communities.
Many of the actors in the show are aware of the fact that some patrons might be taken aback by an openly LGBTQ+ story, but they believe the story is one worth seeing.
Our LGBTQ+ Ohio news is never behind a paywall. Help us keep it that way with a donation to The Buckeye Flame! When you donate, you’re keeping LGBTQ+ Ohioans informed about the issues that matter to us.
